Crunch Time for 8664
Blogging live from 8664 HQ during the first-Friday Gallery Hop. We figured that after Christmas in the cold of early January, nobody'd be interested in Gallery Hopping. But it's in the 60s outside, I have the door open, and Yuppies who live in the upscale condos next to our office have been shuffling by and muttering as they pitch their trash in the large green standard cans just beside our entrance. We need thousands more of them to do exactly the same.

The holidays now mercifully past, we're going to spend most of our efforts button-holing state legislators prior to the KY General Assembly session in early February. They're going to have to reckon with the hard reality that there isn't enough in their budget to fund the newly-revised astronomical cost of the Bridges Project - $3.9 Billion Bucks. Now's our chance to convince them that there's a better way. But we don't have much time...

While it's quiet I'm gonna work on an editorial reply to the really dreadful Q&A that our illustrious Mayor gave to LEO this week. When asked about 8664 he said, among other things, that he "couldn't base decisions on aesthetics." Hoo boy! Is this what we're up against? I must write a hard-hitting reply. But first I'm gonna read Dave Barry.
